DAY 1
Arrival & Warm Up Ride: Passo della Futa
29.5 mi - 3,084 ft (47.5 km - 940 m D+)
Welcome to Italy! We'll meet in Florence and transfer to the start of our tour at Villa Lo Sprocco in the hearth of the Mugello valley for a 50 minute drive.
We'll have you checked in at our hotel and we'll have a delicious light lunch while going over a brief introduction to Logistics, Safety and Routes. Then we'll get you set up on your bikes and we'll head out for our first ride!
We start off our trip with probably one the most classic roads that traverses the Appennini mountains connecting Florence and Bologna: Passo della Futa. These foresty mountains that gift us of spectacular views over the valley are also dense with history, once the frontlines of WWII.
Once back to our hotel we'll introduce you to the Tornanti Cycling Staff with a welcome aperitivo and go over all that you need to know for the week. You will receive a welcome pack with two water bottles and a Tornanti jersey.

DAY 2
Ride 2: Passo del Giogo
34.5 mi - 3510 ft D+ (55.6 km - 1070 m D+)
Today's ride brings us back up into the hearth of the Appennini mountains, tackling the winding and steady climb of Passo del Giogo. Once again the beauty of the foresty climb will give way up to spectacural open views. At the top, we'll regroup and relax before enjoying the descent back into the valley. The rolling hills will accompany us for the rest of the ride, but it woudn't be Tuscany without a few punchy short climbs. We'll stop for lunch in the lovely old town of Borgo San Lorenzo, right in the middle of the valley before we make our way back to the hotel.
Relax by the pool before another traditional dinner.
DAY 3
Our journey moves on from the magnificent valley of Mugello heading south for new exciting destinations. We ascend to Vetta alle Croci and descend through the town of Fiesole on beautiful roads along the course of the 2013 UCI Road World Championship and breathtaking views of Florence.
We ride along the valley floor for a little while and then make our way up on the rolling hills of Chianti, the hearth of the Tuscan wine country.
Grape vines and olive groves are perfectly alternated and in harmonious postcard-picture scenery. The roads are quiet and gentle, but beware: the climbs can get spicy really quick! Enjoy.
Climbs:
- Passo Vetta alle Croci
- Panzano in Chianti
- Castellina in Chianti
Hotel:
Palazzo Squarcialupi
DAY 4
This is Tuscany at its finest. A grand classic. We roll along the Chianti Classico roads in direction of Radda. The Black Rooster sign is everywhere reminding us that we're always not too far from a good winery! We'll stop by the medieval abbey of Badia a Coltibuone and then roll into Gaiole in Chianti, home of the famous ride on vintage road bikes: l'Eroica! After our coffee stop we'll hit the road again and climb back through the stone-walled picturesque town of Lecchi in Chianti, nested amongst endless vineyards. One more descent and climb will bring us to our lunch stop in Radda, one of the most important towns of the whole Chianti area.
A fresh lunch at our friends from Bar Dante will replenish replenish our tank before we head over back to relax at our hotel.

DAY 5
64 mi - 4888 ft D+ (103 km 1,490 m D+)
It's a moving day again. We pack our bags and say farewell to our home in Chianti only to venture onto new marvelous roads. We start off with a long and gradual descent to Poggibonsi and from there up again through San Gimignano and Volterra, the ancient Etruscan capital. The terrain and lanscape will continue to change as we get closer to the sea. One last climb to Montecatini Val di Cecina and soon we'll be at our new hotel: San Martino Resort.

DAY 6
51.9 mi - 3215 ft D+ (83.6 km 980 m D+)
The last ride of our trip. A beautiful loop along the hills facing the Tuscan coast. We'll start off riding on the backside, inland, up and down beautiful country roads. Climbs and descents along quiet roads which will lead us through along old hamlets and coastal towns such as Canneto and Bolgheri. The mediterranean sea air makes for a special quality of the grapes here, the base for wines of excellence. One last climb and we're done for this adventure.

DAY 7
